• The party was going well. Hazel looked beautiful and frankly happy. Whether she was faking it or not was another issue, but Elora knew how good the Emmersons were at putting up a show. Tony had the black eye that Zade had given him. He hadn’t approached Elora the entire dinner probably because Zade was planted at her side like her own personal body guard, but Tony glanced at her from time to time, passing her, giving her a look of disdain and anger.
• He claimed he was obsessed with her, that he loved her, but he only looked at Elora with hate and resentment, like he wanted to hurt her. Ambrose Dominic had made a speech. He had introduced Hazel as his new wife. If people were judgmental about Hazel being young enough to be his daughter, they kept their mouths shut. He was Ambrose Dominic after all. Most of the people here would crawl and bow at his feet just to please him.
