Chapter 88 Vaslof’S New Mission

  • It was the dead of the night. Deep inside the enormous, thick forest on the outskirts of the kingdom of Scyta, the Scytan warriors settled. Though this forest was cold, pitch dark, and utterly tranquil, the area where the warriors had deemed fit to set up their camp was buzzing, warm, and lit up, thanks to the numerous fire spots that the warriors had set up.
  • Outside their tents, warriors could be heard chattering and laughing amongst themselves. Contributing to the noise was the popping sound of fat from the meat the warriors roasted. The warriors seemed really giddy that night. They had enough reason to be there. It had only been about three days since they began their mission, but they had already accomplished one of their two goals. Amongst all the tents of animal skin the warriors built, one of them stood out. The biggest one, of course, belonged to the warlord, Vaslof. It was situated in an area just a little distance away from the rest of the warriors and their noise, hence the calmness.
  • Vaslof stood with his arms folded and his eyes glued to the objects before him. These included three incomplete werewolf skulls and several other bones which still had decaying flesh attached to them. Warlord Vaslof had his nose wrinkled as he was disgusted by the stench emanating from the unwhole corpses. With the help of his warriors, he had successfully recovered the remains of the family members of the Kerian lad. Slowly, Vaslof’s eyes went from the littlest skull, which must have belonged to Kerian’s sister, to the bigger one, which must have been his mother’s, and then to the biggest one, which must have been his father’s. The warlord could picture Kerian breaking down when these bones were presented to him.
