Chapter 83 Catherine

  • Having had a filling breakfast and a refreshing bath like the one from the previous night, Ashina was set to go on about her day. Just before she stepped out, she stood before the enormous mirror, which reflected the whole room at once, and studied her reflection. With her lips pressed into a hard line, she checked out every part of the dark red gown. It was so simple, lacking even the tiniest bit of adornment from any precious stone or material. Ashina picked this out as she was seeing no one in the forest. It was loose and comfortable, so I couldn't hinder her meditation in any way.
  • Also, the dark color was to hide any sort of dirt it could incur in the forest. The kirtle was just perfect for the day, but Ashina still felt unsure about wearing it out. She was a Princess, and now she was a Luna! The most respected woman in the entire kingdom. She didn't have to ponder too hard to know she was to always be seen in the finest of outfits. She couldn't even tell them why, for obvious reasons. She was certain this could be seen as her having no regard for her position, and she was dead sure the council members would exploit the tiny flaw.
  • Ashina let out a sigh and looked her reflection dead in the eyes.
