Chapter 28 Dinner With Juan

  • The scrumptious and savory smell of the delicacies set on the table between Prince Juan and Princess Ashina filled the tense atmosphere. Ashina no longer felt so nervous as the food greatly distracted her. It made her mouth water, and now she had to battle to retain her calm and decency in the presence of the Prince.
  • "I had the finest cooks in the palace take their time preparing all of this," I won't judge you if you tongue-lash the dishes after eating," Juan boasted with a smirk as he picked up his cutlery.
  • "Wow... that's nice," Ashina muttered, her eyes still glued to the food. She wondered why Juan had done all of this. She had expected a regular dinner and not the buffet before her. While she thought, her stomach grumbled loudly. Embarrassed by it, she let out a gasp and looked to see if Juan had heard it. She hoped with all her heart that he wouldn't. The wry smile he wore told Ashina that he had heard it loud and clear, and Ashina dropped her head as her face flushed with embarrassment. She felt highly ashamed of herself for letting out such a thing she couldn't control happening in his presence. Prince Juan giggled at her shyness.
