Chapter 13 Decker's Rage

• Slowly, Ashina slid her back down the wall and sat on the ground. Still panting heavily, she placed her arms on her knees and rested her head on them. She was having a hard time believing that she was still alive. Moments ago, she had looked death in the face and, by some kind of miracle, she escaped its embrace. She could not comprehend it. Her claws retracted and so did her fangs. Her hair returned to its original length. She had lost the strength to maintain her iota form.
• "What did you do to her?! How dare you?" Decker screamed at the top of his voice with rage at the Prince who was exiting the room. Two Scytan guards restrained him by trapping both of his arms behind him. He did all he could to wriggle himself out of their firm grasp, but it was all to no avail. Prince Juan stopped on his way out and took a look at Decker. With his nose wrinkled, he looked at him with disgust. With his brows pulled close together and the gnashing of his teeth, Decker looked back at him angrily and fearlessly. The two men held a stare for a moment, and then Juan departed.
• "Let me get to my Princess!" Decker screamed at the Scytan guards. After the Prince was out of sight, they set him free. Decker dashed into the room at once, breathing heavily as the wrangle with the Scytan guards was tiresome. He looked around the room with his jaw dropped and his eyes widened. It was a mess. The sofa where he sat with the Princess and the commander had been thrown recklessly into a corner. The bottles of wine and the cups were now on the floor and their contents had also spilled all over. The sight confirmed the ruckus Decker had heard outside. Something terrible has happened here. Commander Rafe ran in, along with some Arthenish warriors. Scytan maids and guards came in too to see what the commotion was about. It was a full room now. Decker paid them no mind as he looked around for Ashina. Finally, he spotted her in a corner, sitting on the floor with her face hidden. He gasped.
