• Ashina's heart raced, and though it was a cold night, sweat trickled down her forehead. She was terrified of the shame she could feel soon. If she got forced to morph into her werewolf form right here and she couldn't, before the dignitaries of Scyta and their King, it was going to be a massive disgrace to her, her mother, and her home kingdom. Her eyes, which flickered around, fell on her mother, and the Luna looked back at her with sympathetic eyes. Only her mother knew about her inability to morph, not even the Arthenish council. Queen Leah's hands were tied, as it wasn't going to be a good look if she dared to interrupt the ceremony. Ashina began to pant, and it got worse as she could no longer control the movement of her chest. As if sensing her utter discomfort, Prince Juan grabbed and squeezed her palm. She let out a gasp as she remembered that Juan knew about her defect. Abruptly, she turned to face him. His enraged eyes were fixed on his father, and his jaw was clenched in fury. He let out a low growl. He seemed displeased with his father, but Ashina hoped he was displeased enough to refuse morphing in their presence.
• "Well, what's the wait for? Go on and morph! I've always wanted to see what Princess Ashina's werewolf is like!" King Roy exclaimed, smiling at Ashina. Ashina lacked the strength to even put up a fake smile. Her worry was evident to all.
• "If you want some entertainment, go back to the palace and watch my sister fight. My wife and I will not be morphing in the presence of spectators. We were never told about this show of a wedding phase, so father, you shouldn't be surprised that everything won't go as you wish. Maybe we will spend our first night in this forest for whatever reason, but none of you will witness our morph. Consider it punishment for not informing us," Juan snarled. A few gasps could be heard, Ashina's included, from the way Juan addressed his father, the Alpha. The king's eyes widened with rage. Juan had done it. The king stepped up to his son, who was taller than him and looked into his eyes menacingly.
