Chapter 59 My First Day As A Wife

• Ashina opened her eyes but shut them closed almost immediately as the bright sunlight fell on them. She had had the best sleep she had ever had in weeks, thanks to Juan's comfortable fur. He had been so kind to her the previous day. From not letting his father uncover her secret to providing her with warmth and comfort so she could have a peaceful sleep. Juan indeed loved her, and though she didn't love him back, she felt the need to repay his kindness.
• Now that Ashina thought of it, she had spent the night deep inside a cave where the sunlight should not have been able to reach. It confused her how there was so much light around now. Now that she paid attention to her surroundings, it didn't feel like she was on Juan's soft fur anymore. She flung her eyes open and gasped at the sight. She was in Juan's arms, and before them was the palace. She was being carried, and the whole time she had not noticed he was moving. Noticing that Juan was bare-chested, she shrieked and tried to wriggle her body off him.
• "Hey, hey! Relax. So many are watching now. Let's not make them think we're not getting along on our first day as one!" Juan whispered. Ashina looked around her and let out a gasp. Around them were onlookers made up of guards, maids, and even some honorable. They were so stunned by the sight of the princess in the prince's arms that it seemed they had forgotten they were to greet. While some murmured amongst themselves, others stared in awe. Ashina held tightly to Juan's neck and shut her eyes. She wished she had not woken up. The last thing she wanted was for her eyes to meet Decker's while she was in Juan's arms like this. She knew Decker. He was going to assume they had had carnal knowledge of each other last night, and that could make him slide into depression.
