Chapter 79 Respite

• Now outside of the council room, Juan let out the breath he knew that he had held for so long. He was well aware of what had just occurred, but it had yet to hit him. He had yet to fully process it. Even though the council was against him taking his father's place as Alpha, he had successfully done it! It was a lot. A whole lot to take in. He knew it was a thing of joy, but it had all happened so fast, that he felt the need to have a long rest. Respite. That was going to have to be after he was now certain of the condition of his father, and so he made his way to the King's chambers.
• I bet they're in there on Vaslof's neck for forfeiting the throne. Juan thought as he walked.
• He let out a scoff. The Prince was yet to fully understand why he had gotten help from the warlord, of all people, who was his only rival. If Vaslof had not conceded, they would have had to go through with the fight, and while the Prince was confident of victory over Vaslof if he was being honest with himself, he did not want to go through the stress. He might have been stronger than the warlord, but the warlord was strong as well. There's no way he could have emerged unscathed.
