• Motherfucker had a lot of fuckin balls, showing up like that. There was a look of confidence on his face that I knew would be difficult to break down. It was getting harder to control Jasper as he was ready to come out. As I glanced at Jonathan, he held Katia protectively in his arms. The first thing that came to mind was Maliyla, then Katia and her current state, and then all the people in the restaurant, some of whom were humans. There was one rule I had for wolves: they should never shift in the presence of humans. The rumors had been heard, but nothing had been seen, and I wanted to keep it that way.
