Chapter 32
- Hector's POV
- The High Council, in my book, was made up of idiots who sat high and mighty, making and changing laws to suit their own fucking needs. Their actions were to blame for the dangers that the packs faced. Their blind eyes didn't see the violence, corruption, and injustice being perpetrated right in front of their eyes. In my experience, those who control wealth and power don't care about anyone but themselves. It was probably why they always had a problem with me, because I never really cared for them. My preference would have been to kill them all and burn their fortress. I never followed their rules in the past, but now, I would put my feelings aside for Maliyla. My goal was to keep her safe, and I would do whatever was necessary.
- It had been three days since Erick had made threats, and my only speculation was that perhaps the rejection had completely affected him. He deserved every bit of what he got. The thought of him pissed me off. How could he still exist?
