Alpha Erick's POV
As far back as I can remember, I always felt like she was my mate. The chemistry between us was just right. But the fact that her head was always buried in a book meant she never paid attention to me. I never understood her fascination with books, and I don't mean the books we had to read at school. No, the books she read were fiction novels, a strange choice, but she seemed to enjoy them. My father unofficially handed me the Alpha title when I turned eighteen. As soon as he did, he pulled me aside and told me he was tired of dealing with Gisselle's dad, always complaining about how his daughter deserved better. He wanted to make sure I made her Luna and got rid of Maliyla's father once and for all.
Maliyla's dad was one of our most skilled fighters. His training method was undeniably the best I've ever encountered. Some even thought he was invincible. When he beat out all the other warriors and was left standing, my father had no choice but to make him his Beta over his best friend, Darren. To shut his ass up, my father promised him that Gisselle would be Luna no matter what. If I had to choose for myself, I would've chosen Gisselle either way. The girl had a fucken amazing body, and she knew how to put those pouty lips of hers to good use.
