Chapter 10
- Maliyla's POV
- It had been two days since Hathor had spoken to me, and I had completely recovered from my wounds. Dr. Neal said she would continue to check on me since Hathor was still half away; that was something I didn't understand. Although Dr. Neal had mentioned it was customary for our wolf to take a hiatus after rejection, she assured me that she was still very much present but was a little frail. Even after knowing I had my wolf with me, I still felt incomplete. Like a part of me was missing. Hathor's absence left me with a lingering sense of emptiness, as if a vital connection had been severed. I longed for the comfort and familiarity of her presence, knowing that only she could truly understand and empathize with the depths of my emotions. Without her, I felt adrift in a world that had suddenly grown cold and unfamiliar. The majority of Hector's time was spent in his office in meetings, but he came out for meals in between.
- I had just walked out of the bathroom when, to my surprise, Jeanie came to my room to tell me that the chef had prepared a luxurious brunch to be enjoyed on the garden patio.
