• ***Four weeks later***
• It had been a week since Hector and I left Maketa. It turned out that the storm that kept us there for an extra week was not as bad as they expected. Despite initial reports of a category-five hurricane, it turned out to be a tropical storm. Despite the heavy rain and wind, the storm did not prove to be as severe as expected. After being away from home for a month and one week, it took a few days for me to get back into the swing of things. The fact that Hector did not miss a beat was to the point that it was as if he had never left in the first place. Jonathan was glad to see us again.
