Chapter 20
- Hector's POV
- Only when I was certain Erick's men were plotting a break-in, did I tell Jonathan and my men that we needed to remain vigilant and hidden to maintain the element of surprise? To ensure vigilance and hiddenness, I instructed my men to ensure that they camouflage themselves in the surrounding environment, blending seamlessly with the surroundings when patrolling. They were to maintain strict communication protocols and synchronize their movements with the utmost precision, relying on hand signals and covert earpieces to minimize the risk of detection. After setting up our plan of action, we waited for Erick's men to act.
- Maliyla, however, was my biggest concern. I ensured that two of my most reliable guards were always at the packhouse to keep watch if I was not there. In the end, Jonathan and I agreed that one of us would always stay with her. The possibility of losing her was not an option for me. I wanted to tell her but didn't need her to worry. My goal was to prevent her from thinking I could not protect her.
