Chapter 12

  • Maliyla's POV
  • The city was alive in the mid-morning. The gentle hum of traffic and the chatter of pedestrians filled the air as bustling cafés and shops began to open their doors. Sunlight streamed through the narrow streets, casting a warm glow on the vibrant buildings adorned with colorful murals. The scent of freshly brewed coffee and pastries wafted through the air, inviting me to want to explore the hidden gems of this lively urban landscape. It filled me with awe and appreciation for the beauty I had never known as we continued driving through town. I didn't know where we were going, which made me nervous. Not knowing what to expect, I stayed quiet and enjoyed the drive.
  • Before long, we reached a shopping center. The car stopped, and Jonathan and Hector stepped out. I stared at them in confusion as I watched Hector come and open my door. After staring at him for a few moments, I exited the vehicle. As I looked around, I noticed that the shopping center was an outdoor mall filled with shoppers bustling from store to store, arms loaded with purchases. The sound of laughter and conversations mingled with the upbeat music playing in the background, creating a lively ambiance. People gathered in the food court, enjoying various cuisines, while others explored the stores, browsing through racks of clothing and shelves of trinkets. It was a vibrant hub of activity, offering a diverse range of experiences for visitors to enjoy.
