• Hector's other relationships weren't a surprise to me. After all, he was twenty-four years old and an Alpha. Even though some Alphas had sex at a young age, others saved themselves for their mates. In Hector's case, he didn't, but I didn't, either. I suppose the only thing that bothered me was the fact that, more than likely, he wasn't planning to tell me. However, I was glad he did. It was important to me that we didn't have any secrets between us. I would rather know the truth than live a lie, like I did back at Blood Rose Pack, even if it hurt.
• Jonathan and Hector had spent half the day locked in the office, leaving me alone. So rather than be coupe up, I decided to walk around the pack grounds, admiring the majestic trees and the lush green grass. As I walked towards the back of the packhouse, I was drawn to the lake near the forest. This was a place where I knew I could sit, breathe, think, and take in nature's beauty.
