Chapter 18
- Maliyla's POV
- Upon waking up the following morning, I felt rejuvenated and refreshed. I was grateful to have been able to explain to Hector what happened between Erick and me that night; however, finding out that I had yet to accept the rejection further complicated matters. While I would rather not be tied to Erick, I feared the unknown and the consequences of the rejection. My biggest concern was how long I would be without my wolf. I had already been without her for six months and missed hearing from her. Not that she talked much; most wolves didn't speak to their human counterparts, but just having someone with me always meant I would never feel alone.
- My mind was filled with so many negative thoughts, so I decided to shower and wash them away. After hanging a towel on the glass door, I turned on the hot water and glanced in the mirror. Pulling off my shirt, I could see the scars from the attack on my shoulder, and the thoughts of that dreadful night sent a chill up my spine.
