Chapter 52
- Maliyla's POV
- Getting ready for the meeting was probably the most nerve-wracking thing I have ever done. Despite knowing that the allegations against Hector were false, it didn't stop the nerves from consuming me. As I emerged from the bathroom, I opened my suitcase and started taking everything out. Suddenly, the realization hit me that I didn't have anything presentable to wear. I was kidding myself. Nothing in my possession was older than my age limit. Almost everything I had was what one would expect to see on a normal eighteen-year-old. I couldn't help but feel a pang of insecurity as I surveyed my wardrobe. The thought of being judged based on my age and appearance made my anxiety skyrocket. I desperately wished I had something more sophisticated and mature to wear, something that would make me feel confident and worthy of being taken seriously.
- 'I had not thought of that when Hector took me shopping.' I thought to myself as I slumped to the floor. "How could I be so stupid?" I groaned, facepalming myself while I brought my legs up to my chest and rested my head on my knees.
