Chapter 97 Stubborn

An hour later when Alex arrived at the apartment, Juliet was still seated in the same spot Michelle had left her... she didn't notice him until she felt a presence close to her... she raised her head to look at him and he had a smile on his face... "What are you thinking so intently about that you didn't even notice me coming in" Alex asked, he had brought lunch for the both of them but Juliet had completely lost her appetite... she had waited for him to come so she could ask him about what his mother had told her, but now that he was standing in front of her she felt like a cat had caught her tongue...
"Are you alright?" Alex said, becoming a little worried...
"I'm fine, I'm just..." Juliet trailed off and swallowed... she stood up and walked away towards the kitchen Alex following behind her... she poured herself a glass of water and drank it in one go to calm herself... Juliet took a deep breath before turning to look at Alex who was standing behind her, his eyes filled with confusion and concern... The Alex that she was staring at wasn't the Alex Michelle told her about... she just knew he couldn't do such a thing to her... He was... Alex... the sweetest person she knew...
