Chapter 159 Pissed

• "Are you alright?" Charles asked Gina as they drove towards her father's house for dinner. Her hand was fisted and she was more than nervous. Though her father knew about her getting engaged to Charles, this was the first time they would meet. She knew exactly the type of person her father was, and after living with him for so long, she was afraid he would say the wrong thing to Charles. He had an unfiltered mouth, and though she had Anna might be used to it already, it wasn't the same case with everyone else. "I'm fine, I'm just a bit nervous" Gina said and smiled nervously at he'd fiance. A bit nervous was an understatement to how she was feeling, and when they finally arrived, she swallowed, her heart beating frantically in her ribcage as they drove into the residence... they both got out of the car, Gina's eyes on the front door as they walked towards it. She stopped in her tracks causing Charles to do the same way also. Maybe she should have talked with him first before bringing him. "it's going to be fine", Charles tried to assure her, and Gina nodded. "Yes, it's going to be fine" " she muttered, and they held hands as they walked to the front door. Gina pressed the doorbell... They stood there in silence for a few seconds before the front door opened to reveal one of the maids... "Welcome, ma'am," The maid said,d, and Gina nodded towards her in acknowledgement while Charles smiled politely at her... "Welcome", Anna, who was standing in the hallway and looked like she had been waiting for them to arrive,e, said. Gina found it odd that she had a warm smile on her face and looked oddly too welcoming... she stretched her hand out towards Charles, who took it. "I finally get to meet my future son-in-law", Anna said,d, and a frown settled on Gina's face, but she said nothing and let Anna do whatever she wanted. "nice to meet you, ma',", Charles said, and Anna nodded. Her eyes travelled from Charles to Gina, and she smiled warmly at her stepdaughter, who gave her a forced smile. "Where is dad" Gina asked her, wanting to get everything over with so they could leave. "He will be down in a few minutes; he is up in his study making a phone call", Anna informed and gestured for them to follow her into the living room so they could wait for Mr Dawson to arrive... "I'm Anna," Anna said when Charles was finally seated and before Charles could answer her Gina cut in. "would you like anything to drink," She asked and the smile on Anna's face dwindled... she glared a little at her stepdaughter and said nothing more till Her husband walked through the entrance of the living room.. she stood up immediately but swallowed when he glared disgustingly at her before his eyes travelled to Gina and Charles who were standing also. He walked to where they were standing and stretched out his hand toward Charles for a handshake. "Welcome", Charles Graham said, and Charlie shook his hand... Gina felt a bit relieved by this but wasn't relieved yet because she knew they still had a few more hours to spend with her father. Things could take a worse for the bad then, and she hoped not. She hoped he just continued being cool like he was now as he spoke to Charles. Maybe for once he wouldn't be a menace and embarrass her. Her eyes travelled to Anna and she noticed the sad look on her face. Of course, she hadn't missed the way her father had looked at her. It made her feel a bit sad for the woman... but it was her choice so she could do nothing...
• They all proceeded to the dining room after her father and Charles had a brief talk about his father. Her father seemed to be pleased and not irritated, and she was thankful for that, but Anna had kept quiet the whole time. dinner was served, and everything was finally going well till her father asked, "So when will the wedding be?" Gina froze as she was cutting through her steak and raised he head up to look at her father who picked up a glass of wine and brought it to his lips... "I have a date for the both of you; most of my associates will be free by then" " he added and took a sip from his wine... Gina dropped the fork and knife in her hand and glanced at Charles who hadn't said a word... "But dad, we were thinking of choosing the date ourselves,", She said in a low voice, and her stomach churned a bit when she saw the look of displeasure appear on her father's face... this was the bad turn she wanted to avoid. "But then, your date should be better" She quickly added before he could say anything... "I thought it would be a chance for Charles here to meet potential investors in his company. your company hasn't been doing well lately and Alex has been the one keeping it the way it is with his investments, but don't you want it to get better or would you rather wait till you become bankrupt... it must be probably because you rarely spend time at the company but at that bar of your and..." Charles wasn't able to complete his words because Gina had slammed her hand on the table startling everyone including Charles who had a deep frown on his face... she closed her eyes and sighed deeply as she felt her blood start to boil with rage... she could take her father speaking to her however he wanted, but what she couldn't take from him was he trying to be little Charles from his hard work...
• "Gina!" Charles called out to her softly, but Gina has reached her brim... "What gives you the right to speak to him like that?" Gina started in a cold voice, and the look of displeasure increased on Her Father's face... "Sit down", he said firmly And confidently that Gina was going to obey his command, but Gina did the opposite of that... she didn't do as he said and continued with what she was saying... "What gives you the right to talk to him like that? Why do you derive joy in bringing everyone around you down? does it make you happy!" Gina said and ran her hand through her hair... Charles stood up and held her arm, trying to stop her before she said something more that she would regret, but there was no stopping Gina this time. She was completely pissed...
