Chapter 162 Your Concern
- "How many do I have left?" Gina muttered as she sat in the bee office and went through the wedding invitation card that was left with her. She had a meeting with the wedding planner in a few hours and had to tell her the number of people she was planning on inviting. Gina froze, and when someone popped up in her mind... her mother... she hadn't seen her in years and wondered if she would come to her wedding if she invited her. The thought made Gina scoff. She hadn't even called for so long... a part of her was curious to know how she was doing and if she ever thought about her frequently. Her father had said that she didn't even fight to take her along. Did she despise her that much. she was still her daughter... Gina picked up her car keys and her handbag. She had wanted closure. She wanted answers to her questions. She wanted to carry on with her life without having any regrets any longer... she was sick and tired of always trying to put up with everything her parents did to her. She called the wedding, planning to reschedule their meeting as she walked to her car...
- She let out a very deep breath as he entered her car... Gina was about to call up Charles and tell him about what she planned to do, but she decided not to. She decided to tell him everything after meeting her mother. She started her car engine and went on a long drive to where her mother lived... it took her a few hours, but she finally arrived... Gina sat in her car, her eyes on the house that she had visited a few years back... the house still looked the same as she remembered... the front porch looked the same... the same garden was still there, and the roses that she loved to plant were still there and blooming. Her father had hated when her mother spent most of her time in their garden, planting her favourite flowers... he would scoff and call it a complete waste of time when she showed him her work, and Gina, even though she had been a child, still remembered the sad look her mother had on he face... she was finally able to do what she wanted without being judged, and a sad smile appeared on Gina's face. Guilty rose in her heart when she thought about how her sudden appearance was going to be a disturbance in the perfect life her mother seemed to lead with her new family. Gina thought of herself as a hurtful past for her mother. A past that her mother didn't want to see and remember, and it hurt her to think that way of herself... She didn't want to be a hurtful past. She wanted to be someone who her mother missed and regretted leaving behind, not someone she wanted to get rid of and not see ever again... even after so long, it hurts...
- Gina fisted her hand as she got out of her car... her handbag was in her free hand as she walked slowly to the front door of her mother's house... she stood there for over a minute, her hand travelling to the doorbell and not ringing it. This kept happening a few times, and Gins turned to leave, but her legs wouldn't move.. she didn't want to see. Her heart yearned to see her mother again after so long. She wanted to see how she was doing. If she had grown older...
