Chapter 52 Inferior

  • "This tastes nice," Caroline muttered to herself as she took a sip out of her late morning coffee... She heard footsteps approaching and saw her son, trying to walk past the living room... She dropped the cup of coffee her hand and also closed the book she had been reading...

You know she wants Alex to get engaged to Dawson's daughter. " Caroline stood up and walked to where her son was standing... "You know we have to be on their good sides that way they can keep helping our company till we are able to stand alone ourselves," She said and patted her son's shoulder... "I know that already, mom. you don't have to remind me all the time. I will try to speak to Alex about investing in my new franchise... you can also speak to aunt maybe she can help, " Charles said, and Caroline smiled slightly at him. even though her heart was burning with anger... She hated the fact that they needed Alex help all the time... It made her feel little to her sister in so many ways... she couldn't even be mad at Michelle because she needed her son's help... it infuriated her and she couldn't do anything about it
  • "Your father would be proud of the effort you are making... he was really fond of you, " Caro muttered, and the air in the room became a little tense. Silence reigned between the both of them, and she smiled at her son...
