Chapter 176 Unlikely Help

• Joy paced back and forth in her room. Her hair was scattered around her face, and her eyes filled with tears as her mind became plagued by what had happened the happened... Everything had been fine between them for a few days and suddenly he flipped again... he had left her beyond broken and tried to apologise for his actions, But it was too late for him because the whole time joy had been waiting for him to flip out and then she could get the golden opportunity that she had been planning out for... the house was in a complete mess and after what he had done to her. he knew she wouldn't be able to clean the house all alone, it was then he called the maid that came in now and then to clean the house. This was the opportunity Joy had been waiting for. He had left quickly that morning, and now she stood in her room waiting for the maid to arrive.... she immediately turned to look at her door when she heard a soft knock, and joy rushed to her room door and opened it. "Good morning ma'am," She greeted and Joy nodded In acknowledgement and gestured for her to carry on with her work... the maid left to do as she was told and Joy watched from the shadow and waited till she was done with all her work and came up to her room to inform her that she was leaving that was the opportunity joy had been waiting for that morning... and it finally worked. The maid was quicker today, to Joy's advantage and a few minutes later, she was upstairs, ready to inform Joy that she was done... joy stood outside her room in anticipation...
• "wait", she said to the maid who came only once a week to the house and mostly cleaned when Daniel was around, but today he had to leave urgently for work, and he made sure to give Joy a stern warning before leaving the house, but joy didn't want to follow his warning anymore. If she had a chance, she should as well take it, and even though he found her and took her back with him, at least she tried to escape. The maid froze in her tracks and turned to look at joy. She could see the fear in the maid's eyes, but she had no choice... "What do you need, ma'am?" The maid asked in a low voice, and joy swallowed. She had no idea what Daniel could have said to the maid or if she would call him and told him everything if she asked for help, but it was worth a shot because Joy was aware that the maid knew all about what was happening to her in the house and sometimes she could see the look of pity in Martha's eyes when she spoke to her. "I know you are aware of everything", Joy started, and she watched the confusion and then understanding that became etched on Martha's face. "I don't know what you are talking about, ma'am", Martha lied, and Joy almost scoffed but knew if she did, then her chance of escaping for a few days would be zero to none. "Yes, you do", Joy said, and before Martha could say anything, Joy took off the jacket she was putting on, and Martha gasped when she saw the bruises that were on Joy's hand and back... "Ma'am" Martha muttered, her eyes became filled with worry. "You have to help me. If you don't he is going to kill me... I can't do this anymore, I have to get out of here...please" Joy pleaded her eyes almost watering up as she waited for what Martha was going to say... "he sent everyone else away, it's just me and you here and I promise to reward you if you help Me" Joy said and walked back into her room. She walked to her table and opened her jewellery box, where she had expensive jewellery that she rarely ever wore because she wasn't allowed to leave the house. Thankfully they were finally going to be useful to her and not be used as a showcase anymore... she came out of her room and took Martha's hand. "This is pure gold and worth a lot of money,", Joy said to Martha as she placed the necklace in her hand. She could see the look in Martha's eyes...
