• Goodbye, Charlotte said, waving at Catherine as she left, leaving Catherine alone in the room with her thoughts. The incident replayed in her head. She knew Donald was crazy, but she didn’t think he would violate her. The pain she felt between her legs made it seem like it was still happening, and she hated it. Her body disgusted her.
• She remembered the good old days with Donald when he was still a loving husband, when she loved him with all her heart, until he began to act differently towards her. He always came home late, never having good excuses. She remembered finding a slutty text a woman had sent him and confronting him about it, which was when he started getting drunk and hitting her. It happened five times before she decided she wanted out of the marriage.
