Chapter 18

• James sat in his car, his mind unable to escape thoughts of Mia ever since their breakup. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't stop thinking about her. He pulled out his phone and searched for her pictures, a smile spreading across his face with each slide. Suddenly, he summoned the courage to call her. As the phone rang, his heart raced.
• “Hey,” Mia’s voice said from the other end after she picked up.
• You picked up! Hey, Mia, James said, trying to contain his excitement.
