Chapter 92

  • Ken sat in his wheelchair across from Thomas, and they focused on their work related to The Sydney's holdings, trying to trace transactions and records. Ken had been up early, his desk already cluttered with documents, notes, and rough drafts he had scribbled through the night. Thomas joined him shortly after, and the two men barely spoke as they worked.
  • The door opened slowly, and Cynthia walked in with a tray holding two cups of tea. Neither man noticed her at first. Ken finally looked up when he sensed movement. He smiled faintly and reached out his hand for the cup. Cynthia smiled back and placed the tea in his hand.
  • Thomas, noticing her gesture, turned his head and greeted her, "Good morning, Cynthia," as he took the other cup from her.
