• Mrs. Sydney closed the door to her private room and it locked with a click behind her. She stood there for a few seconds, her hand still on her lips, her heart beating faster than usual. She didn't sit down. She started walking back and forth, slowly at first, then quicker.
• Her breathing was steady, but something in her chest felt tight, like someone was pressing down on her from the inside. She couldn't calm the thoughts in her head. They kept repeating the words Mr. Sydney had said earlier.
