Chapter 58
- The evening was cold… As darkness slowly crept across the sky, Mrs. Sydney stood by her window, arms crossed tightly, her fingers pressed against her lips as she chewed nervously on a nail. The tension in her chest hadn't left since she stepped out of the hospital with Jack. Her eyes remained fixed outside, yet her thoughts were miles away.
- What on earth was Cynthia doing in the hospital? She was supposed to be facing a murder charge, if not death, then life imprisonment. So why was she out, walking free like nothing had happened?
- Reaching for her phone, she was just about to dial when a message popped up. It was from one of her undercover detectives stationed at the hospital, the same one who had interrogated Cynthia.
