• Cynthia walked into the hospital that afternoon with a small smile. It had been a while since she had seen John outside of Lillian's health issues. John was waiting near the entrance in his white coat, and when he spotted her, his face lit up.
• "Cynthia!" he called, walking over to her. "It's so good to see you. How have you been?"
• She smiled warmly. "I've been good, John. Things are moving along well. How about you? You look healthier than the last time I saw you."
