Chapter 66

  • The night was quiet at the Sydney estate. The large mansion stood still amongst others in the big estate, with only a few lights glowing softly through the windows. The air outside was cool, and the garden lights lit up the trimmed flowers and trees.
  • Mrs. Sydney had just returned from the hospital with Jack. As always, they walked through the front door without saying much to each other. Jack went off to his part of the house—his private wing where no one disturbed him—and Mrs. Sydney headed toward her private quarter with her husband.
  • She was calm on the outside, but her mind was racing. Everything at the hospital had gone exactly as planned. Ken didn't remember anything, and that was good news for her. With no memory, he couldn't fight for his place in the company or ask too many questions. She knew she had to act quickly before anything changed.
