• The next morning came slowly. Ken woke up early, though he still felt weak in his body. His eyes opened, and for a while, he just lay still, listening to the silence of the house. The memories of the beach returned to him, the sound of the waves, the breeze, and the peace he had felt. It had been a long time since he felt that light inside him, even for a short moment.
