• Serena had just finished making dinner. After putting the final touches on the meal, she decided to freshen up before Adonis arrived.
• After drying her face, she pulled her hair back into a loose bun. Her mind briefly wandered to the baby. It won't be hers alright, but she couldn't help the flutter of excitement she felt each time she thought of the little one growing inside her.
• She walked back into the bedroom, where her phone lay on the vanity. As she reached for it, the screen lit up, showing an unsaved contact calling. Her brow furrowed in confusion. She didn’t recognize the number. Hesitantly, she answered, pressing the phone to her ear.
