Chapter 10 Ten
- A gentle tap on the shoulder roused Serena from her sleep. She hadn't been sleeping deeply, still shaken by the vivid nightmare she had. The alley, the man, the blood, the fear —it all lingered.
- The soft whisper accompanied by taps broke through her haze. "I'm hungry, Serena." Serena's eyes shot open as she quickly sat up. That's right. Ariadne needed to eat. They needed to go home. Immediately, she went to the bathroom to get Aria's clothes so she could dress her up and they could leave this hotel. How could she have forgotten they were supposed to leave? Wouldn't it be too late already?
- Just then she remembered. Work! She was supposed to go to work today! Dread filled her as she froze while dressing Aria up. She was going to get fired. Gosh where was she going to get another job? She doubted Signor Rossi would pardon her. She then heard Aria's small voice, "Are you okay?"
