Chapter 17 Seventeen

• Giovanni helped Serena settle into the backseat of the car. She murmured a "Thank you." expecting him to leave her alone but to her surprise, he squatted and held her leg, "Does it hurt badly?"
• Serena's eyes widened and she turned red immediately, "No. It doesn't..."
• "Let me see." The way he spoke to her was different from the way he's always done. He sounded more casual and gentle. He pulled speechless Serena to sit in a way that her legs were not in the car so he was able to take a look at the reddened ankle. He pressed it and she winced in pain. He sighed and got up, opening the front seat and checking for something. Then he returned to squat before her and he put her injured leg on his knees before taking the bandage and wrapping it around her ankle, "It's just a minor sprain. It should take only two or three days to get better."
