Chapter 36 Thirty Six

• "Where have you been? You're late." Adonis's voice was low and rough, his words slurred slightly from the alcohol. The scent of lavender wafted up from his clothes, but it was overpowered by the smell of whiskey.
• Serena felt a surge of annoyance at his tone, but she calmed herself. She attempted to pull away from him, but he held fast. "It's none of your business. Let go of me."
• Adonis's hand slid under her blouse, his fingers tracing a path over her stomach, up to her chest. Serena's breathing hitched as his hand came to rest between her breasts, his touch sending shivers down her spine.
