Chapter 38 Thirty Eight
- The sound of shattering glass filled the air as the lamp exploded on impact, sending shards of glass flying everywhere. Camillo's eyes widened in shock and pain as he stumbled backward, his hands clutching at his head. He let out a loud groan before crashing to the floor, bleeding from the cuts on his head.
- Serena didn't waste time. She hastily untied her left hand, her heart racing with adrenaline. Since she had already freed one hand, she easily freed the other.
- She quickly got up but then froze at the sight before her. Her heart thumped wildly as she squatted down beside a bleeding and motionless Camillo. He didn't seem to be breathing either. Had she killed him? Tears pricked her eyes as memories of that night at the alley rushed in. The feeling of that man's blood on her fingers. Why does she always end up killing someone while trying to save herself? That was what got her into all this mess in the first place.
