Chapter 39 Thirty Nine

• Adonis and the doctor exited the room, leaving Serena in stunned silence. The revelation of her pregnancy still swirled in her mind. How come she hadn't noticed? Her period was supposed to arrive the next 3 days. She wasn't even suspecting this at all.
• Minutes ticked by before Serena finally stirred, her thirst prompting her to reach for the water pitcher. She swung her legs over the side of the bed but her legs gave way beneath her. She felt a wave of dizziness wash over her, and she stumbled.
• Adonis burst into the room, his reflexes swift as he sprinted to her and caught her. His arms wrapped tightly around her, holding her steady and close. "Can you be more careful?" he asked, a frown settling on his face.
