Chapter 42 Forty Two

• Serena stood in the hospital room. Finally. She's returning home. Doctor Kyung's words still echoed in her mind as she clutched the lists of dos and don'ts for her growing baby. She had listened intently.
• After the doctor's visit, Serena made her way to Aria's room, her feet carrying her on autopilot as her mind wandered to Adonis. He was supposed to come and pick her up. She waited for him to come and pick her up, but as the hours ticked by, she began to feel a growing sense of unease. Her phone was gone, lost in the accident, and she had no way of contacting him. She had no money on her either. Even the dress she wore was given to her by the hospital.
• As she sat with Aria, Serena found herself glancing at the clock every few minutes. But as the morning wore on, it became clear that Adonis wasn't coming. A pang of disappointment struck her, and she couldn't help but wonder if he had forgotten about her. Or maybe he's just busy.
