Chapter 14 Fourteen

• Serena woke with a start, jolted by the insistent knocks on the door. Who was that? She sat up, rubbing her tired eyes. She wasn't able to sleep all night due to a nightmare she had, her anxiety and the panic attacks she was getting. She was just starting to doze off this morning. Her head throbbed, a dull ache lingering.
• She walked towards the door and opened it. It was Gretel standing there, a huge smile on her face, "Good morning, Miss! Hope you slept well?" Gretel's voice was annoyingly cheerful.
• Serena forced an awkward smile, still disoriented. "Oh, yeah." Her gaze drifted to Gretel's expectant face, and suddenly, she remembered she was meeting Adonis's family. Her eyes widened slightly.
