• ​“Alpha… everything is set… Rafael…” Jared said, but he hesitated reporting further. Alpha Fenris sat in his chair outside the balcony. It was dark, and he was staring into space. The silence between them stretched, heavy and suffocating, yet Fenris seemed perfectly at home in the void.
• ​“Are you certain, Alpha… is it safe to let him run around freely?” Jared asked with concern. He only did what his Alpha instructed him, but recently his Alpha was more mysterious with his actions, and it made him curious…and deeply uneasy. Rafael was not a man to be underestimated, and leaving him to his devices felt like inviting a viper into the bedsheets.
• ​“If everything is set… then that's fine,” Alpha Fenris said, his voice low and mysterious. He didn't turn around to look at his bodyguard. He remained a shadow against the sharp horizon. Jared didn't question; he could only listen. He knew the weight of that tone; it was the sound of a predator waiting for the trap to spring.
