• ​Rafael’s eyes narrowed suspiciously as he stared at Elara’s sleeping form. He had carried her back from the stables personally, but she was yet to regain consciousness. Her face was pale, and her breathing was shallow. He had already ordered for a pack doctor to examine her, fearing that the stress of the day had finally broken her spirit. Shortly after he arrived in the room, the door burst open.
• ​“Hurry and take a look at her,” Rafael said without even turning to see the person who walked in.
• ​“Alpha… we… we are under attack!” One of the guards rushed in and dropped to his knees. Rafael went alert and looked at him. The man was covered in blood, his clothes were torn to shreds, and his left arm was missing from the elbow down.
