Chapter 140 A Night At A Cabin(Part One)
- The rains started so unexpectedly that Elara and Alpha Fenris ended up seeking shelter in a cabin, in a secluded clearing deep within the forest, far from the bustle of the packhouse. It was a modest structure, consisting of a large main room that served as a sitting area and a single bedroom equipped with a stone fireplace. Despite its isolation, the interior looked remarkably well-kept and fully furnished. Elara ran a hand over a mahogany side table, wondering if the place was truly as abandoned as Alpha Fenris had claimed it to be.
- As the rain intensified, drumming a relentless rhythm against the roof, Alpha Fenris led her toward the small bedroom. He wanted her to get changed immediately, as her thin clothes were soaked through and clinging to her skin.
- “Wear this. It's a bit dusty, but it will keep you warm,” he said, his voice low and resonant in the quiet room. He handed her a cream-white, baggy t-shirt that looked like it had belonged to him. Elara nodded silently, taking the fabric and tossing it onto the edge of the bed. She tugged at the hem of her shirt, pulling it upward and exposing the curve of her waist. She stopped abruptly when she realized the man had turned to look at her, his gaze intense and unreadable. She quickly dropped the shirt back down, arching her brows at him in a silent challenge.
