Chapter 52
- Lyssa's POV:
- The next day, as the morning moon barely peeked over the horizon, I showered and slipped into my clothes, a silent shadow moving through the still-dark pack house. My heart hammered with a mix of fear of being caught as I eased the door shut behind me, the click of the latch sounding louder than thunder in the morning stillness as I sneaked out of the pack house. I ordered an Uber and told the address to the driver.
- When the taxi finally pulled up to the gates of Garrett's mansion, I paid the driver and stepped out, my gaze lifting to the grand structure before me. It stood, a testament to bygone grandeur, the same as the last time I saw it, except for the untamed grasses that now grew around the building, looking all abandoned.
