Chapter 21

• The next day, the cool evening breeze brushed against my skin as I sat in the garden of the NGO premises. I had just finished my work for the day. It was the next day after returning from the trip with Jessica, and the thought of heading home from work to an empty house dampened my spirits. My Alpha Garrett is not yet back.
• Lost in my thoughts, I suddenly felt a presence nearby, followed by the distinct sound of dried leaves crunching underfoot. My heart skipped a beat as I called out, "Who's there?" The response that followed sent shivers down my spine.
• "Maybe one of your stalkers…" the voice cold, sending a wave of recognition through me. And then, with a chilling finality, the voice added, "Not to worry because the stalker is no more."
