Chapter 155

• As the sun rose on a new day, Alpha Garrett found himself alone in his room with Lyssa's lifeless body lying still on the bed. A faint glimmer of hope flickered in his eyes as he remembered the promise of the moon goddess - that she would return to life. Yet, as the hours passed by and the day wore on, that hope gradually faded into a sense of despair and loneliness.
• Garrett tried to distract himself by pouring over paperwork and attending to pack matters, but his mind kept drifting back to the room where Lyssa lay, unmoving. Every so often, he would steal a glance towards the closed door, yearning for a sign of life from the woman he loved.
• Finally, unable to contain his emotions any longer, Garrett approached the door and hesitantly pushed it open. Lyssa's pale face greeted him, her once vibrant eyes now devoid of light. He knelt beside her, brushing a lock of hair away from her cold cheek.
