• The moment Garret got home, he tried to keep himself busy, watching movie series and organising the pack members that needed his attention, but his mind kept drifting back to little Maria and the hope that she would come visit him today. Yet, as the evening waned, it became clear that she wouldn't be stopping by.
• The next day, after finishing up a pack meeting, Garrett retreated to his room, still feeling a bit dejected. Just as he settled in, there was a soft knock on his door. Before he could even call out, the door creaked open and in walked Maria as she welcomed his face with a smile.
• "Garrett!" she exclaimed, rushing over to him and enveloping him in a tight hug. "I missed you so much."
