Chapter 156
- Lyssa trudged along a strange street she’s not familiar with, as she clutched a set of dirty clothes she had found abandoned on the roadside and then immediately put it on. Her stomach growled with hunger, prompting her to approach a food stall where a middle-aged woman in an apron was busy serving customers.
- "Excuse me, ma'am," Lyssa began tentatively, her voice soft and almost pleading. "Do you have any food you could spare? I haven't eaten. I’m hungry."
- The food seller, a stern-faced woman with a no-nonsense attitude, glanced at Lyssa with a mixture of pity and annoyance. "Sorry, girl, I can't just give away food for free. Times are tough for everyone," she replied curtly, turning back to her work.
