• Balton arrived at the mansion and hurriedly made his way to Lyssa's room, his heart pounding with worry. As he entered the room, he saw his brother Alpha Garrett sitting next to her, a look of concern etched on his face. Without saying a word, Balton went to Lyssa's side and checked on her, feeling a sense of dread settle in the pit of his stomach.
• He placed his hand on her forehead, feeling the heat radiating from her skin. Balton then gently lifted her hand and checked her pulse, his brows furrowed as he noted the irregular breath. He leaned in closer to listen to her breathing, his expression growing grim as he realised it was shallow and erratic.

With steady hands, he injected her with a dose of medication, hoping to stabilise her breathing.
