- As we got back home, I made sure little Sarah was in place. While she slept for the night, her small hand wrapped around me on the bed. I gently rubbed her hair, soothing her into a deep slumber. Just as I attempted to slip away, she stirred awake and clutched my hands tightly.
- “Miss Lyssa, don't leave me." She pleaded with her innocent voice, her hands still around me tightly.
- “Shh, it's okay, Sarah, I'm here. And I'm not leaving you. I promise. go back to sleep,” I whispered, trying to calm her.
