Chapter 25 Caught In The Trap

• The sky darkened as storm clouds devoured the sunlight. Lightning slashed across the heavens, blinding in its fury. Thunder rumbled, making the sky seem to flaunt its majesty. Nicole stood at the window, watching the storm outside. The rain hadn’t let up for hours, and the thunder continued to roar.
• Nicole was still at Oliver’s penthouse. With the weather so bad, there was no way she could go home. She couldn’t possibly ask Oliver to drive her in such a heavy downpour, nor could she ask Sadie to pick her up in these conditions.
• “Why does the weather have to be so cruel? You can rain all you want after I’m home. Just don’t rain now,” Nicole grumbled to herself. She wanted to leave, but the storm had her trapped.
